Three days in the woods with a river

The Men’s Resource Center has created a new program – designed for men who want to explore the following questions: Who are you and how do you describe yourself today? Would you like to define yourself differently? How would you like to distinguish yourself in the future?

The setting is the woods, in the midst of the trees along the Willowemoc River, a trout stream close to the town of Livingston Manor, New York.

Participants will live in tents and share a community space where conversation and a variety of self revealing exercises will be shared.

Why the woods? Many of us, the facilitators included, spend days in large office buildings, removed from trees, and birds and 4 legged animals. The design is to return to a space that acknowledges other forms of life and celebrates the fact that we are all one despite the fact we spend days being separate. Where better to gain increased understanding?

The program will be psychotherapeutic and psycho educational. We will use tools developed in Intimacy Training, cognitive behavioral therapy exercises and core energetic processes all designed to create greater self-discovery and deeper revelation into our personal truth.

The group will be limited to eight to insure that each participant comes away with a clearer understanding of who it is they desire to be. Each will be asked to complete a questionnaire prior to the weekend as well as fill out a personal preference profile.

We request, if you are a seasoned camper, that you bring equipment you are comfortable with. This will include a tent and sleeping bags. If you have not camped before, we will work with you to secure the necessary items. Food will be provided.

Dates: To be determined.

Time: Begins at 6pm on Friday and ends Monday at 12pm.

Cost is $375.
